Architectural Assistant

Gpad London Ltd.

London, UK · March 2014 – August 2016

My time at Gpad was my most productive yet and was instrumental in developing my passion for the residential sector. Responsibilities quickly improved to submitting and managing planning applications, preparing technical drawings, liaising with local authorities and conducting independent site visits. As a result, my understanding grew exponentially and instilled a growing sense of architectural maturity and resulting in several completions.

Architectural Assistant

Lee’s Associates

London, UK · May 2013 – September 2013

Lees provided a valuable initiation into the commercial sector, mainly with a series of refurbishment projects for the Royal British Legion. The Legion informed us that the issue of accessibility was paramount and as a result, ensuring projects were Part M compliant became a major responsibility and offered an opportunity to learn this Part in detail.

Architectural Assistant

Alice Poole Architects

London, UK · February 2013 – May 2013

Alice Poole provided a brief freelance opportunity to work within the high-end residential sector, with a specific focus on extensions in the Bedford Park Conservation Area. This provided an opportunity to again improve my technical understanding, undertake site surveys and gain a glimpse into the high-end market.

Architectural Intern

DNA Arquitectos

Barcelona, Spain · October 2012 – January 2013

My third placement at DNA was my most challenging and required perseverance and adaptability. Despite the challenges, I had a hunger to succeed and was rewarded with opportunities to assist on a variety of projects from competitions to master plans. Working in Spanish provided its own linguistic issues however this only encouraged me to embrace working outside of my comfort zones and engage in a different dialect.
